How to Invite a Friend
Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.” – John 20:21
Following Jesus means reaching out to people. Jesus came to seek and save the lost. (Lk 19:10) His last words, also known as the Great Commission, commands His followers to reach out to every person and every nation, teaching them the Gospel. (Matt 28:18-20) If Jesus’ followers get this right, we can help change lives and influence cultures.
PRAY. We believe that God is a powerful, loving Father. He is the one who can help a hurting heart find new life. He gives faith, we simply share His message so that others can believe in it. That’s why we start with prayer. Pray specifically for at least three people to have their eyes opened to see how much God loves them. Pray that they will be open to coming to church. Pray that you will have the courage to actually ask them.
INVITE. After you pray, your next step is to invite them. You can invite someone any Sunday, it doesn’t have to be a special event. If you are having a difficult time, maybe pick a landmark day to invite your friends. Easter, Christmas Eve, a BBQ or other events make an invitation easier.
